Awareness Campaign

Social media campaign focusing on awareness, education, and support for LGBTQ Youth

The Issue

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) youth are a historically underserved population in educational institutions. LGBTQ youth are disproportionately affected by: depression, anxiety, harassment, assault, self harm, hate crimes, homelessness, substance abuse, increased disengagement and lower performance in schools. They face these similar adversities during this critical time, and face these hardships at a significantly higher rate than their peers.

Social Media has a strong impact on youth populations, and negativity on social media can lead to an increase in self-harm risk. It's critical that social media promotes and fosters positive and affirming environment for all Youth. Our organization is paving the way for social media awareness campaigns.
